Mike, I believe Alvin and Jake were one in the same. Just ran across this old thread , where Paul Cates mentions Alvin. Read down a few of Pilot Jets posts. He makes mention of Alvin.

I am certain this was the grocery store Bridgestone rider we ran into , mid 80's.

I do agree with you that Alvin is Midge's dad-My old memory isn't what it used to be -

I guess he had the nickname " Kamikaze Jake " and that's all I remembered him by -

I was 16 years old when I first raced with Alvin and he scared the hell out of me - I do

believe he sold Bridgestones in his bike shop along with Nortons - His shop was very

close to Custom Engineerings shop on the same street in Bakersfield in the late 60s -

I think ?
