I know Rokon built one in the 1970's DT - 340 ? but I wondered if they worked ? I know ratios would be limited for something like motocross but I just wondered if they worked ?

Randy,
Many years ago I raced a variety of Husqvarna automatics in various disciplines.
Such was similar in feel to that of a CVT except during deceleration as all clutches
were free spinning. I.E. No engine braking.

Heavy trail braking was absolutely required on short tracks. Once I learned the technique
I was as competitive on it as I was on anything else. Competitive being relevant to my ability.
( or lack of lol ).

Don't remember the Rokon rider's name, but his main competition was a guy by the name of Phil Flick who rode a Bultaco. They were really fun to watch.

I think Ken Critter on the Rokon and one of my riders, Bob Huber had his"ski mask" with one eye sewn shut to keep his glass eye from getting so cold.

Ron Atherton raced one back in the 70's and still rides it from what I understand.
