International Mefo Sport Flat track Cup 2009, round 1 Neuenknick short track
Written by Jan-Willem Jansen
Friday, 17 April 2009

The International Mefo Sport Flattrack Cup 2009 kicked off during the first true summer weekend of the year. The warm Easter weather drew in a large crowd who, whilst enjoying some beers and bratwurst, occupied the large hill overlooking the gorgeous Lindenau Stadium in Neuenknick. Both the international speedway riders as well as the flat track racers produced some breathtaking battles treating the spectators to high quality racing.

With some riders benched due to injuries and others who couldn’t make it, nine riders battled for the honor spots. And what a battle it was! With only seasoned racers on the track it was impossible to predict the outcome, riders dominating one heat were struggling dead last the next and back in front after that!

With rounds in 5 different European countries, we are very excited about the racing season ahead!

Fascinated by the pure, big wheel racers, a new generation of glamorous street trackers is unfolding and growing fast in the cities, workshops and on internet blogs! This leads to an increasing awareness of flat track racing and contributes to the steady growth of the sport in Europe as well.

After the success of the past two seasons we can now count on the full support of the German motor sport federation. With the DMSB publishing the flat track regulations, every club in Europe can organize flat track races to the same rules!

Newsflash

Pro Plates is pleased to announce an extremely limited edition of ten(10) 2009 Flattrack.com #1 Plates. These 10 plates are the same as the Flattrack.com #1 Plate that will be awarded to the winner of the 2009 Flattrack.com Overall Flattrack Championship.
These priceless #1 plates will go to the first 10 people that donate $500.00 or more each to the Overall Championship Point Fund at Flattrack.com.
This is the first time in history that fans donating to a fan-based point fund have had the opportunity to recieve a copy of the famed #1 Plate. The first ten $500.00 donors will be determined by the timing of their Pay Pal donations, or the postmark on their letters if the donations are sent by mail.
Traditionally, the only plates produced for past championships go to the Champion, with a limited few extras produced for the Champion to give to his sponsors or others of his choosing. This tradition will be followed, of course, to honor the Champion and those he wishes to thank for supporting his race efforts.
Don't waste too much time if you want to recieve one of these 10 exact replica #1 Plates!

Ten and ten only will be available for donors!!!!
