Dan Rouit is in the hospital 6 Months, 1 Week ago  


I received an email from Mike Middleton that Dan Rouit was admitted to a hospital in Fresno on Monday evening.

I spoke to Kathy this afternoon and she told me that Dan had a cold and flu the last two weeks and on Monday evening was contemplating a trip to the ER as he was feeling very poorly. After transferring to his chair, before his chest strap was in place, he accidently hit the joy stick and was pitched to the floor. The result is a broken hip which will require surgery. He first must get an infection under control before that can happen. Kathy is with him virtually all the time and is spelled at times by her sister.

Dan needs a our prayers and a few cards from the flat track community to bolster his spirits.

Dan will not be able to talk on the phone but Kathy will relay good thoughts to Dan.

I just spoke with Kathy. Being in the hospital is a real drag.
Give her a call. Dan could not talk with me on the telephone but he said hello through Kathy.
Dan, be nice to the nurses! I know you know by now they can make your life miserable if they don't like you. And get your ass out of there!

Sorry, I don't know Dan and no doubt it's probably not humorus to him but it sounds like when he dropped the clutch that old 2smoke was running backwards and pitched him over the bars. Hope you get well soon. Pat Orman.

It is a sad thing that Dan Rouit was admitted in the hospital. Our prayers are with him and his family for his fast recovery. He was such a good man and deserves best treatment from the general hospital, I am sure nurses there will love him. Angioplasty

For those of you who didn't know Dan back in the day, here's a picture of him (97c) leading the open expert class at Chowchilla in 1974.
