harrah oklahoma pics 1974-75?

I am sure there are many photos out there. Oklahoma Cycle
News had several in their publications during those times. Many
folks in Oklahoma do not have access to the Internet other than
dial up in many of the rural areas of the state such as that
were the arena is. So lots of the history is still in old
newspapers, magazines and in scrap books that have yet been digitized.

I found the quickest way is to take a digital photo of a photo
and then upload that image to a photobucket account. Then use
a hyper link to the photobucket image.

Dan and Vicki Mahony came to the races there a few times. Biggest problem in that building
is the flouresent lighting fixtures. Added to the haze of smoke from the two strokes,
makes it very difficult to capture a decent photograph.

Now with the three new fan motors installed, plus less two stroke
engines, the air quality is much improved that when they burned
diesel fuel in the smudge pot heaters and the majority
of bikes were two strokes burning Castrol-R Bean Oil.

Dan may still have some photos from the Indoors at Harrah.

the pics posted with the number 55 at harrah was me back then. later on a couple of the numbers peeled and
blew off thus leaving the number 5 witch is the number i use to this day. when gary
started racing a few years back he picked up the number 55. 55 was the number our dad ran on his
old stock car back in the 1950. thanks for the thoughts of gary. and onther piece of history solved

Any other names for the riders, with their numbers, in the photos?

sorry i dont know the names of the other riders maybe there still around
and will post who they are. the only guy i remember was one that had the nick name wild man. he had a beard and ear to ear smile an road in the 250 class and would center punch ya in the corners if the oppartunity was there. did it to me once so the next corner i did it back never had any more of that nonsence after that, o the young days
