Photo 1976 Houston Astrodome S/T and Short Story 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
The Following Photo was taken in 1976 during Qualifying for the Houston Astrodome Short Track National.

The Bike was a 360 YZ Yamaha in a Champion Frame. A few seconds after Dan Mahony shot this Photo I crashed Hard, and Thats when I died on the Track at the Astrodome, but I came back after One of those "Out of Body Expierances" thanks to Jesus Christ and A Preacher by the Name of Landry who was the AMA Chaplain at the Time.

It was the first time that I didn't walk away from a Crash and since I didn't get up, My Dear Mother who was in the Stands had a Heart Attack.

Brother Landry then went into the Stands and laid Hands on My Mother also. Several Hours later My Dear Mother and I both Walked out of the Hospital and Returned to The Astrodome to Watch Bubba Rush Win The Short Track National.

WOW What A Weekend.

Would that have been Jerry Landry, the Racing Preacher, #12N? I remember him up at Santa Fe...he'd give a little prayer before the races most Wednesday nights.

Yes Bert is Was Brother Jerry origianlly out of Louisiana during his early racing days.

He passed away in like 1981 of cancer.

He was a Great Guy, and taught me a lot about the Bible.

I loved Him Dearly, Obviously.

Like I said above Thanks to Him and His faith I got another Chance.
A lot of folks don't.

Glad You remeber Him Bert.
