The sun is shining thru the back window of the mini-van as I look around to see what’s left of the race last night , here at Hagerstown. Campers, tents and a few smoldering fires are about all that’s still here. The race reporters will have their Hagerstown race coverage up and out , from practice to main events.
As might be expected, ours is…well… somewhat different.

Usually, when you take a drive along a back country road in Holmes County, all you hear is the now-and-then “clip, clop, clip, clop” of an Amish horse and buggy. This county is the largest Amish settlement in the entire state of Ohio.
However, LAST night (7/30/10), on Holmes County Rd 150 at the Hilltop Speedway (3 miles south of Millersburg), we were treated to a DIFFERENT kind of horsepower… the kind we LOVE… the FLATTRACK kind of horsepower!

Let's Talk Chris Carr PDF Print E-mail

Forum member JDB17 posted this on the forum. It has turned out to be a great thread.

"Chris is a 7 time GNC champ. 7 time 600cc champ. Current Land speed record holder. 2000 F-USA Dirt Track Champ. 1995 AMA Superbike Rookie of the year. He may not be winning now but seems to make the main at all the GNC events. My question is this. "HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE CHRIS MISSED A MAIN. SINGLES OR TWINS"? Im sure Bert can answer this question but I would like to hear other input on Chris. I think he is way underrated for his achivements. I have other Chris Carr facts that I will post as this thread progresses. One of which is my first personal sight of Chris at the 1984 Indy Mile. He was a junior and ran away from the field as I remember."

Hank Scott Interview PDF Print E-mail

Hank Scott spent some time with Mia, one of The Fans in the Stands

Since I retired in 87 I have been busy building up my business, racing with my boys & just doing the things many of us want to do but don't find the time while
we’re so involved with our own racing. Dirt track took a lot of my time & time away from my Family. I missed a lot of things you see with your child growing up with
my first born, & decided I raced long enough & didn't want to miss those moments with my second born. The building of the bikes & engines for so many years took its
toll on me. I grew weary of the grind. While on the race track I forgot about that & it was game on, but when it was over, reality set in again & it was back to the same routine again.
