Jacopo “Scandalo” Monti wins round 4 of the action packed International Mefo Sport Flattrack Cup! But the sensation of the day was young gun Denis Wienke!
The speedway rider from Berlin made a guest appearance on the spare Harley-Davidson from the Dutch-Brothers. Fast from the word Go, he challenged the regular flat track riders and made it on the podium in beautiful style in his first ever flat track race! After round 3 got washed away in Abensberg, Round 4 was welcomed by perfect conditions over the beautiful shorttrack stadium in Norden. Dutchies Edy Put & Mick Jansen had endless battles with an abundance of over takings all day long. Unfortunately Mick Jansen lost control in the final and Edy Put secured himself the fifth place overall. Tough wheel to wheel battles also between Hahn & van Nes. Van Nes who’s season has been hampered by technical problems showed his regular rivals the way home on his own machine. Shorttrack UK star and Bielefeld winner Tim Greig made another strong showing but the second place was enough for a charging Jan-Willem Jansen to take over the lead in the championship!
With only two rounds to go, and at least five riders having a realistic chance at the title, we look forward to the Italy race in two weeks time!
